Umberto Fedeli has purchased 5.2 percent ownership in the LNB Bancorp, parent of 20-branch Lorain National Bank. Mr. Fedeli's ownership of 383,500 shares of LNB was disclosed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. 

Mayor Thomas Perciak is a member of the Board of Directors of LNB Bancorp.

Thomas P. Perciak has declined an opportunity to run for the new Cuyahoga County Executive position and on April 27, 2010 "kicked off" his 2011 re-election campaign for Mayor of Strongsville, Ohio.

WHAT IS CAP AND TRADE?

An energy bill that passed the House of Representatives last month aims to use a "cap-and-trade" incentive system to reduce air pollution from carbon dioxide.  The proposed system would set a limit, or cap, on nationwide carbon emissions.
Companies would be alloted pollution credits that they could buy if they wanted to exceed the cap, and sell if they already cut their emissions.

  INSIGHT: The Administration has hired a Human Resources Director. (Based on Ordinance No. 2007-247) the salary range for this (level15S) position is $59,148.00 to $97, 551.00). Mr. Tony Urankar was appointed to the position.
 Mr. Urankar is the first Human Resources Director in the history of the city.
 His first task is to organize the human resources policy and procedures.

Municipal borrowing costs on the rise.  (refer to Crain's Cleveland Business May 12-18, 2008 issue page 4 article by Jay Miller.

"Cities, counties and other government bodies across the country---all of which rely on tax-free municipal bonds to finance major improvements---are finding the costs of issuing and paying interest on those bonds rising anywhere from a few thousand to a few million dollars."
The Perciak Administration with the approval of City Council has placed at least 35 million in bond debt since 1-1-2004.  Review of current Finance Committee records shows little discussion on the potential increase in costs to pay off the bonds. 

THE COUNCIL FINANCE COMMITTEE HAS YET TO HAVE A PUBLIC 'AIRING" OF THE INCREASED COST TO THE CITY OVER THE NEXT 5 YEARS and into the future.

Income Tax Credit Reduction:

The income tax credit reduction, enforced on Strongsville citizens working out side of the city, continues to fuel the revenue and therefore, the expenditures, of Strongsville. Investigation of the dollars available to meet budget expenditures shows that of the about 31 million dollars available in 2007 close to five million was paid by Strongsville citizens that work outside of the city.
