Based on information provided by LNB Bancorp:.... Under the terms of the agreement.......the Board of Directors approved the additions of. .....Daniel G. Merkel former Regional President of Republic Bancorp, Inc. and Thomas P. Perciak.....the current Mayor of Strongsville to the board effective immediately.

INSIGHT: As late as the spring of 2008, Lorain National Bank has done commercial lending in the city of Strongsville.

Will the legislative arm of city government now move to assure that no appearance of "conflict of interest" exists in the awarding of contracts to do business within Strongsville?

Are organizations that seek council's legislative approval to build etc. excluded from seeking funding through LNB Bancorp and its subsidiary banks?

INSIGHT; THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF STRONGSVILLE, OHIO IN ARTICLE II SECTION 2 READS IN PART "HE SHALL NOT HOLD ANY OTHER PUBLIC OFFICE OR PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT, OTHER THEN AS A MEMBER, OFFICER OR TRUSTEE OF A GOVERNMENT BOARD OR COMMISSION, COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT, PUBLICILY SUPPORTED NON-PROFIT INSTITUTION".... amended 11-2-04......
